Waze + Dating = Love Story?

Waze + Dating = Love Story?

In 2021, a couple met through Waze carpool. They both hated traffic, shared a ride… and now they share a life. From traffic to romantic. 😍🚘...but let´s talk about Waze

It Was Born in Israel

Waze started in 2006 in Israel as a small community project to map roads using GPS data. It was originally called FreeMap Israel! Waze was basically created because people were fed up with traffic and super done with getting lost on the way to hummus.

It Can Speak Like Elvis or Cookie Monster

Waze lets you change the voice of your navigation. So yes, you can be told to turn left by Batman, or a zombie.

It Knows the Secret Shortcuts

Waze isn’t afraid of dirt roads, back alleys, or weird detours. If it saves you 30 seconds, Waze will take you there (even if your GPS confidence dies a little inside).

Google Bought It for a Cool $1 Billion

In 2013, Google purchased Waze for over $1 billion — not bad for a bunch of traffic nerds with smartphones.

Waze is Basically a Legal Spy App for Drivers

It tells you where cops are hiding, where there's a pothole, and who’s faking a traffic jam just to get out of dinner with their in-laws.

It's Like a GPS with Gossip

Waze isn’t just navigation — it’s community-driven. Real humans (like you!) report traffic jams, accidents, and mattresses on the highway. Yes, that’s happened. A lot.

It Was Once a Game (Sorta)

You used to earn points by driving and reporting. Some users became so obsessed they drove around just to level up. Mario Kart meets real life.

Waze Can Predict Traffic Before It Happens

Using millions of real-time data points from other drivers, Waze can actually predict upcoming jams and reroute you before you even see brake lights.

It Once Had Celebrity Navigation Voices Like Morgan Freeman

Driving feels 42% more epic when Morgan Freeman is narrating it. And yes, he once did for Waze during a movie promo.

Some Users Report Weird Stuff Just for Fun

From "zombie crossing" alerts to “UFO sighted,” some Wazers just want to watch the world turn left. 👽😅

It’s the Only GPS That Lets You Say “Thank You”

When someone reports something useful (like a hazard or police), you can give them a virtual “thanks.” So polite. So wholesome.

Which one is yours favourite Waze navigation voice?
